The second in our "Artist Talks" series, Masters of Photography and resident photographer will speak about his work. Join us for a glass of wine and an evening of discussion with the artist.
Exhibit No.9 welcomes the speakers, presenters and attendees to stop by for a welcome and intro to the gallery and tour of our in-house studio. Stop by for a glass of wine and lively discussion about what is and isn't photography.
In an age where everyone carries a phone in their pocket and considers themselves a photographer, Instagram and Twitter provide more up-to-date imagery than newspapers; appropriation of photographs has become commonplace; how do we define photography and photographers? When we retouch, manipulate and composite photographs into imagery that bares little to no resemblance to the original, are we allowed to still call it a photograph? Utilizing the powerful ground-breaking work of Jerry Uelsmann and Maggie Taylor as a starting point, this conference seeks to push the boundaries of photography's possibilities...
