Tom White is a contemporary multimedia artist whose work explores the uncharted space between invention and discovery. Informed by his studies in both physics and art, his process spans painting, sculpture, photography, digital imaging, design, science, and technology, integrating both traditional and digital media.

“I embraced contemporary tools of art-making long before they were widely accepted. As an artist, it is important to challenge preconceptions and give viewers the space to focus, question, and reconsider how they see art — ideally creating a new experience.”

Tom is the artist-in-residence and founder/director of WHITEPOINT Contemporary Gallery and Fine Art Services in Asbury Park, NJ. His 35+ year journey in the arts began with studies in physics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, followed by earning a BFA from Syracuse University, where he studied printmaking, photography, and design.

Prior to founding WHITEPOINT, Tom was a sought-after, award-winning art director and illustrator, working with clients across major industries and global media, including the 2002 Winter Olympics, The Grammy Awards, Hasbro, McDonald’s, and The Golf Channel, among many others.

Two notable recent solo exhibitions include Seaside Dreaming: Grandeur, a benefit exhibition for the Rema Hort Mann Foundation founded by collectors Michael and Susan Hort, and FLOW, WHITEPOINT’s 10th anniversary exhibition, where Busted and Crumple Canvases were introduced alongside full-scale installations of Two Sides To Every Story.

Additional highlights include a solo exhibition at Scope New York, participation in the Ad Art Show at The Oculus at the World Trade Center, a twelve-floor permanent installation in a luxury residence in Washington, DC, a seven-mural permanent installation at Cerner (now Oracle), and a permanent video installation for AEW Global Real Estate across its headquarters locations.

Tom and his wife Lois are cofounders and artists in residence at WHITEPOINT. They are also the founders of WHITEPOINT FINE ART custom framing and archival printing studio providing museum quality fine art services to clients throughout the New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia region.
