Urban Redux is a pop-influenced “new media meets the streets” series of artworks – reimagined visages of urban transience fueled by the simultaneously ugly/beautiful effects of advertising and graffiti over time. They are a spontaneous mash-up of digitally reconstructed material recorded from specific city streets including textures, images, paint, stickers, cracked cement, peeling layers, diamond plate, etc.. Each piece is named for the street the source material is taken from. The central figure is made up of several images of people known or unknown and is a reflection of the layers of personal and commercial interaction with the urban environment over time.
