“Exhibition” is a collaborative postmodern photography collection staged in the transitional spaces of European galleries of contemporary art in Berlin (Hamburger Bahnhof), Paris (Centre Pompidou), Rome (MAXXI Museum for Art of 21st Century), Prague (DOX Centre for Contemporary Art, Exhibition Hall Manes) and Bratislava (Slovak National Gallery). Both artists traveled together for five weeks to Europe’s well-known galleries looking for free spaces between exhibits to use for their own performance and composition, which they documented.
Michal Adamovský has exhibited in galleries in Berlin, Luxembourg, Prague, Marseille, Beijing and Soul and has garnered much acclaim for his work, including participation in workshops under Antoine d’Agata, a member of Magnum Photos. Previous to photography, he graduated with his master’s degree in law. He then represented authors like film director Miloš Forman and writer Milan Kundera. He is engaged in copyright law in photography and has given lectures at the Swiss Exhibition at Controversy gallery in Lausanne on the topic of law and ethical history of photography. In 2013, he won a two-month scholarship for research at MOMA and ICP in New York.
Katerina Zahradnícková started to make photographs when she was 10 years old. She has since exhibited her work in Seoul, London, Berlin, Halmstad and Bratislava. Currently, she is a master’s student in her final year at FAMU in Prague.
