Reception with the artist Saturday October 26 2019, 7-10pm

Oct.26 - Nov.17

Timmy Sneaks was born in 1989 and grew up in Malden, MA where he took up drawing and painting at an early age. Over the years, it turned into a form of therapy while going through his father’s struggles with cancer. During high school, Sneaks immersed himself in tattoo culture. He loved how expressive the line drawing could be and decided to attend Savannah College of Art and Design. Sneak’s first two years were spent studying industrial design. As he approached his junior year, his friend and mentor Tuyen Tran opened a tattoo shop, where he asked Timmy to be his apprentice. Sneaks placed his college education on hold and ran with the offer, with a promise to his parents he would eventually return and earn his degree. Two years after working as a tattoo artist, Timmy kept his promise and returned to school and obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts in illustration.

At graduation, he set a goal for himself to make it as an artist in one year. He committed himself fully and set his sights on Art Basel Miami. Sneaks landed a booth at the Spectrum satellite fair and immediately became recognized for his pop culture imagery and colorful works. His paintings conjure up images of George Condo, Kandinsky, Matisse and the cubist works of Picasso...all with a bit of a twist.

Sneaks has an international collector base which includes Australia, Spain, Mexico, China, Russia, France, Canada, Germany, and the US. His private commissions and collaborations include Nike, Lamborghini, and an all-star roster of athletes and celebrities.

Recent projects include having his work placed in the collection of Toll Brothers City Living in New York by curator Emily Santangelo, as well as an upcoming boutique hotel in Palm Beach. He is also completing a prominent mural at the Landmark Center in his current hometown of Boston in November 2019.
